Snorkeling The Reef Again
English
Yesterday, I went snorkeling near the shore. The water was clear, and I saw colorful fish around the coral reef. My friend didn’t have his mask adjusted well, so he couldn’t spot any turtles. "You must wear your mask properly before diving," I told him. He wasn’t happy—his mask wasn’t perfect for diving. "Have you ever explored this reef?" I asked. "No, I haven’t," he said. Today, we are going to swim into the reef again. Will we see more fish? I hope so! The water isn’t too deep, so it’s safe. If we dive carefully, we won’t miss anything. Tomorrow, we will snorkel with a guide. He hasn’t visited this reef yet, but he has dived in other places. "Are you ready?" I asked. "Yes, but did you adjust your mask?" he said. Last summer, the water wasn’t this clear. We must check everything before we go. If we forget, we won’t have a good time. The fish and turtles are waiting for us!
Fragile Life Under Sea
English
Maria put on her flippers and looked at the warm sea. "Have you ever spotted a turtle?" she asked. "No, but I have taken photos of coral," I said. The reef was very fragile. "You mustn't touch the coral," Maria warned. "It can break easily." We were going underwater when she spotted a turtle nearby. "Is it dangerous?" I asked. "No, but sharks can be," she said. Maria didn’t take photos correctly yet. Her camera wasn’t ready. "We must protect marine life," she said. The turtle swam away. "Did you see its flippers?" I asked. "Yes! They weren’t very big," she laughed. Life under the sea is fragile.
Ocean Current Danger
English
It was a warm morning. The ocean was calm, but the current was strong. "You must stay close to the surface," the guide said. "If you go too deep, the current will pull you away." Maria wasn't experienced—she was a beginner. Did she listen? No. She floated farther out. "Have you checked the water?" the guide asked. "Is it shallow enough?" But Maria didn't answer. The current pulled her. They tried to fight it, but it was too strong. "Will she be okay?" someone asked. The guide pulled her back. "You mustn't snorkel alone," he said. Maria stayed on the surface after that.
