Lost Election Dream

English

The presidential candidate entered the race with high hopes, but the polls had already swung against her. She must have ignored the early signs—her campaign hadn’t fundraised enough, and her opponent was more popular. By the time the final debate ended, she realized she couldn’t win. If only she had focused more on the electoral college instead of just one state. The voting booth had always been her dream, but now she would have to concede gracefully. Did she regret running? Maybe. If she had dropped out before the primary, she wouldn’t be facing defeat now. The election wasn’t rigged—she knew that. The evidence reflected a fair race. Her team told her to accept the results without complaint. "You must understand," they said. "The people have cast their votes." He had won, and she had lost. Would she run again? Only time would tell. For now, she conceded, though she wished she hadn’t spent so much time on the trail. The office would go to another, but at least she had participated in the first place.

The Last Debate

English

The moderator asked the candidates to stay on stage for one last debate. The topic was the political campaign—who had fundraised more? Who had succeeded in gaining support? The senator had endorsed one candidate, but would the party endorse another? During the debate, she told them, "If you had supported the party's goals, you would have fundraised better last week." The other candidate disagreed. "Would you have won if the senator hadn't backed you?" he asked. The crowd wondered—had they debated enough? The moderator said they must have made their points clear. Now, the party had to decide. Would they stay united, or would this divide them?
